My Favorite Band in the World: The puta-pons, (who were once known as Rhoda) are putting the final touches on their debut CD. The most beautiful women in rock music are swinging through Texas on a short tour before cutting the master in Austin. I've seriously waited three years for this CD. www.geocities.com/theputa_pons/

Seventeen Rhinos: Have been pretty quiet lately, but you won't have to wait much longer. Currently in the studio with a new rhythm section, and live shows will be seen after the New Year.
Fear Not the Top 40: Many people have divulged to me about the sad state of popular music. All of the pre-fabricated boy bands, the horrible state of soul music, Divas (God, I hate that term) and the teenage sex goddesses that have cornered the charts. What you have to remember is that Rock and Roll music has always been in the underground of the music industry. For only a short period of time (1964 1968) did Rock music ever top the charts. For the most part the charts have always been full of pre-fabricated, phony music thought up in an office by some fat producer and their team of lackeys. That is something that is never going to change. So ignore the charts, the awards shows, MTV and go out and buy the music that you like. Go out and see the shows. Rock and Roll (trance, hip-hop, etc) should be experienced in smoky clubs, warehouses, basements and parties. It's music removed from the high-rise offices and boardrooms. It's our music.
One in a Billion: Jeff Hallberg was an artist in the first degree. He wrote novels, songs and poetry. Everything that he did was done with artistic expertise. In the 80's he was a roadie for The Cramps, The B-52's and Talking Heads. He always seemed to be in all the right places at the right time (New York, LA, Austin, Chicago) and knew everyone involved in all of those historic scenes. Jeff told the funniest stories that I've ever heard in my life and you always knew that they were true because nobody would ever make up stories like he had, as they usually were embarrassing for him. Jeff died on October 10 after being on life support for a month. He drank his life away and died at age 45. He leaves his two sons, Austin and Tex to carry on his artistic legacy.
The German Art Students: Have cancelled their European tour to record their next CD, "Verona's Burning!"
