Gary Newman
White Noise
(Cleopatra Records)
This double-live CD was originally released on Numan's own label, Numa Records, in the mid-eighties and probably only on vinyl. Now that it has been re-released in a digital format, this classic recording can be enjoyed on your hotshot, modern stereophonic system. Recorded in 1984 at London's Hammersmith Odeon, the discs include synth-heavy favorites like "Are 'Friends' Electric?,"  "I Die, You Die," and of course "Cars."  All told, there are nineteen crisply recorded tracks and, while you may not recognize all the songs (unless you're a Numazoid), they are interesting at the very least from a historical point within the genre now
called Electronica.
