It’s way too early to suggest album-of-the-year candidates but sorry in pig minor is “best of ‘98” material for sure. No doubt this stellar effort was made possible by the production of King Buzzo, he of Melvins fame. From the wise-ass poetry of “Cabin Man” to the levee-breaking ambush of “No, I’m Not Coming Out,” this baby makes me wanna stick my fangs into someone’s jugular. But I don’t wanna oversell it. Listen to the piniata-destroying hell of “El Shiksa” (on which lead singer Shannon sounds like a bipolar Ren Hoek), and you’ll have all the proof you need.
