Before I tell you what a pile of horse-shit this album is, let me say a few things about the German “techno-metal” band Rammstein. Oh, forget it… If you’re one of the white-trash lummoxes who takes this stuff seriously, I’m not gonna be able to stop you from buying it anyway. Perhaps, though, if you believe in coolness by association (I don’t), you’ll take comfort in knowing that some of Rammstein’s famous fans include David Lynch and members of the Foo Fighters. But really, who cares? About the most positive thing I can say about this band is, at times, they are beneficiaries of the “King Diamond/Manowar Syndrome.” That is to say, OCCASIONALLY they provide a so-dorky-it’s-entertaining brand of ineptness. It ain’t much, but it should be enough to win over the throngs of NIN, Marilyn Manson, and Prodigy fans that seem to multiply by the thousand everyday.
