Quadrajets Super Double Buzz 7” (Estrus) Alabama’s southern rock torchbearers, the Quadrajets deliver one of the nastiese seven-inchers I’ve heard in quite some time. The A-side has their three-guitar, bass and skins attack giving “Punkinheaded Motherfucker” a furious once-over. However, the real treat here is the cover of AC/DC’s classic “Whole Lotta Rosie.” This song, of course, is about Bon Scott, his wife, and the two of them waking up with a Tasmanian sexpot. It’s hard to improve on perfection, so the boys up the guitar ante to eighteen strings and tweak “Rosie”’s finer points. “43-39-56 / you could say she’s got it aaaall.” Magnus Watt |
