What the hell is BOMBLASTICA 2000.5 – A MUSIC PARTY FOR THE PEOPLE? FREE BEER? FREE ADMISSION? FREE RAFFLES AND PRIZES? FOUR KILLER BANDS? What the HELL is going on?

BOMBLASTICA IS A MUSIC PARTY FOR THE PEOPLE. If you were to ask one of the 600+ Maximum Ink readers that attended BOMBLASTICA 2000, they would tell you "It's the party for Partiers by Partiers in the most PARTYING fashion possible!".  If you ask Rökker, founder of BOMBLASTICA and publisher of Maximum Ink, he will tell you it's just the beginning. He's going to throw them twice a year!

It all started in March of 1997 at the Mango Grill in Madison as the anniversary party for Maximum Ink, aka The Annual Existence Party. Right from the start, the philosophy was in place: FREE BEER (for a limited time of course!) and FREE ADMISSION to all.  Over three years, the party grew in popularity and latecomers took their chances on getting in.  That's when the party was moved to the Annex (attached to the Regent St. Retreat on Regent St. in Madison) where the room is much bigger.

Now held twice a year, one in March and one in September, BOMBLASTICA 200? (you fill in the year) A MUSIC PARTY FOR THE PEOPLE serves as a showcase for local and regional talent as well as a celebration of the area's music scene and as Rökker puts it, "just one more reason to get everybody to PARTY!!".

FREE BEER – FREE ADMISSION – FREE RAFFLE PRIZES, what gives? "Bomblastica parties are a way that I can give back to the music scene" says party founder Rökker, "I just want people to have fun, on me!". And on the myriad of sponsors for the party include Ward Brodt, The Rave, Budweiser, Drums ‘n Moore, Soundwaves, Elves Palace, Wee Bee CDs, Hempen Goods, Audio Depot,  Shirtpunk.com, Imsofa.com, Crustacean Records and Sleepless Nights studios. Sponsors have donated over $1000 in prizes to be raffled off. Tickets for a "Special Raffle" will be given to patrons between 8-9pm (during the FREE BEER) and after the first band, a $100 gift certificate for a TATTOO at CAPITOL CITY TATTOO on Willy St. will be given to the winner!  Other raffle prizes include concert tickets, gift certificates, CDs, hemp products, jewelry, t-shirts, hand blown glass and more!

Presented by Gigamax Concerts and Maximum Ink music magazine, BOMBLASTICA 2000.5 kicks off at 8pm on Thursday, September 21st . BRADLEY FISH'S ELECTRIFRIED BAND will take the stage promptly at 8:30pm, followed by NATTY NATION, REBELS WITHOUT APPLAUSE  and ANGELS OR INSECTS.

To keep up on the BOMBLASTICA shows, go to www.bomblastica.com  and of course keep tuned into www.maximum-ink.com as well. The next one will be BOMBLASTICA 2001 in March 2001.

And as AC/DC's Bon Scott said "it is my belief that my big balls should be held every night!" I guess Rökker will have to settle for twice a year.  Geert Driver
