High Water Limit Absolutely (Oar Fin) Kicked into high gear with the strong, three part harmonies of Tom Heid, Joe Mareno and Ryan Rappis, Wisconsin's own High Water Limit takes classic roots rock and revs it to the max in their latest disc, Absolutely. Solid, no-holds-barred songwriting meets immaculate musicianship to produce a rock hard set of twelve no nonsense tunes. Even in their more silent moments there is an underlying fury that threatens to erupt at anytime. When it does, High Water Limit explodes with exaltation and glad spirits. A volley of vise-like riffs catapult Absolutely, into one long joyride on a smooth road with polished curves. Holding it all together, drummer Mike Nicloy drives the band straight home time after time. This steadfast consistency remains throughout High Water Limit's sophomore effort. Their hard work has paid off on such tunes as the one two punch of the title track, the rapidly galloping, "Waiting for You" and the barren melancholy of, "Why Should I Try."
