Take a cat.  Drop it from an 18 feet high ledge into an icy tank of tap water.  Then, repeat…over and over again.  This almost perfectly describes the horrifying experience of listening to Children of Bodom's "Follow the Reaper".  In what could be an opera written in ode to Nintendo 64, this concept CD echoes the electronic melodies of the 80's metal band "Europe", while attempting to capture the essence of Death Metal.   Highlights include "Taste of My Scythe", and "Hate Me!"  "Follow the Reaper" is a poor comparison to such classic fantasy genre masterpieces as Savatage's "Hall of the Mountain King" or Dio's "Dream Evil".   Craving something fast and furious?  Pull out your favorite Slayer CD and leave the cat.               Michelle McMullan
