MARQUES BOVRE & THE EVIL TWINS
Angels, Bones & Clocks
Can Do Records

A true songwriter's songwriter, Marcus Bovre And The Evil Twins have been churning them out for thirteen years now, and "Angels, Bones and Clocks" is arguably their best work to date. At turns, giving us chunky rockers like "End of the Line" and introspective, shimmering e-bow enhanced pastoral pieces like "Modern Man". Marcus shows a great maturity, deft touch, and love of a good turn of phrase that will have all you tune-smiths out there saying "wish I had wrote that".  Tastefully restrained and layered production courtesy of Audio For The Arts' Steve Gotcher, excellent guitar work from CJ Summerfield and Mike Wengler, and haunting harmonizing by Moon Gypsy  Mary Gaines are just the hot fudge on the sundae. Those out there already familiar with Marcus' work will find much to enjoy here, find a local store that carries this at times raucous, at times elegiac disc. by Scott Olson
