Trancendental Sky Guitar I & II

Beginning his career as one of the lead guitarists for The Scorpions, U.J. Roth became known as a rock guitar virtuoso. When the confines of hard rock became too narrow for him, he left the band to explore his own parameters. Often compared to Jimi Hendrix, U.J. often covers his songs, and does so again with this release. But, according to Roth, this is much more than a cover album. "'Transcendental Sky Guitar' is a double CD and shows the two sides of a coin from my point of view." Roth explains. "The first of the two CDs, subtitled 'The Phoenix,' presents predominantly the European style that is based on classical music, performed in phrases that stem from rock music. The second CD, 'The Dragon,' tries to bring across the very opposite  American, extremely bluesy and more freely structured rock music is moved closer to the classical school of thinking."
