WILLARD GRANT CONSPIRACY
Everything's Fine
Rykodisc Records

Organic in its textures of choir and acoustic accompaniment, Willard Grant Conspiracy's, "Everything's Fine," rings with a rural revivalist resonance. Mandolins and violins spice a collaborative ensemble that surround songwriters Robert Fisher and Paul Austin with authority and reverence.Robert's gravelly baritone cross a sleepy Johnny Cash with a well fed Tom Waits to produce a moving feast of small towns and strangers, nomads and ne'er do wells.  Paul's playing, ripe with despondent honesty and rootsy understatement, has, "Everything," waltzing with dusty eloquence and humble fortitude. Solemn, serious music that is both beautiful and full of grace, Willard Grant Conspiracy transforms loneliness into stoicism and philosophical resolve into scholarly poetry.  With a genuine affection for the traditional, "Everything," is burdened with emotions, yet quietly evangelical.                    by John Noyd
