Imagine early Black Flag backing up Aretha Franklin. Go ahead, try? Singer Lisa Kekaula is a blues shouter of the first degree. Add that former Madison boy, Todd Westover ((Doorslammer) has taken over on drums and you're in for a night.
The WAMI's Get One Right: Way back in 1999, I wrote in this column about a band called Exit. For what it's worth, they won a WAMI award for "best new group of the year." But don't let that stop you from checking out their CD and upcoming shows in the Maximum Ink circulation area. They are a very good guitar driven band. Really, they are.
Probing the Heartland: Finger has been expanding its touring circle with numerous shows in Milwaukee and Iowa. And as soon as a certain DJ is done listening to it, I get the honor of hearing an advance copy of their Live CD.
